Lots of performances at the moment with Christmas coming up. Played last Wednesday with the folk band. Then again on Thursday with The Scots Music Group. Another performances this week on Thursday of Caledonia and then two performances next week with Classical strings group and the folk band again. Greta fun though.
Performed on Thursday at Carricknowe with some of the pop folk. Christina accompanied me on piano. It was fun with good tea and cakes.
My shoulder has been troubling me since about December. I have been playing a lot.... Now told I have a proper frozen shoulder. Any tips for resolving?? Hey ho. Still playing though!
Had a great night playing in the Canon's Gait on Weds night in aid of Oxfam. Bob Murray did a great job of organising the gig and we had Bella Hardy and Sandy Brechin along to play. Lots of money raised in a great cause.
Spent a great weekend in London last weekend playing hardanger with the London Group. They have a large repertoire and are great players - mixture of professional and really good amateur players.
A group of us performed in a lunch time concert today. We played the first and last of movements of Les Algues, written for flute, violin and harp. We arranged it for two flutes, two clarinets, violins and harp. It went really well. Enjoyed it. We received lots of compliments afterwards.
So here is the back if my new violin. I have commissioned Colin Adamson , a fantastic Scottish maker to make me a Guaneri Kreisler violin. Colin is really busy with quite list of orchestral players that have commissioned him. He has done quite a lot of high profile work and is also an experienced repairer. Check out his website here. I'll put up more pics when its further on. After playing hardanger in Wisconsin I went onto play trad violin at this great Qubecan fiddle camp. Great fun.
