Fiona Harrison Music

About

I have been involved in music all my life, first as a piano player, now as a composer, sound artist and violinist. Passionate about composition,  and the violin I studied these jointly in Edinburgh before choosing to concentrate on composition as first study.

Graduating with BA in Music Performance (Composition), followed by Masters in Digital Composition and Performance at Edinburgh University,  I am particularly interested in experimental music, music and ecology and art music and in bringing this to new audiences in interesting ways.

I am also a non executive Director of the Scots Music Group in Edinburgh,   a wonderful organisation that promotes traditional music in the community and changes lives.

Winner of the Olav Jørgen Hegge Hardingfele Scholarship I also play hardanger fiddle  - a norwegian fiddle with sympathetic strings. My partner, Simon Harrison makes these wonderful instruments.

Contact me if you are interested in knowing more.
