Happily making new music for the last couple of months. In my last post I put up a photo of a live laptop performance. Here is a sound track of a live improvisation I did on a laptop using coding in Max 7.
Very cool. I hope you like it.

Here's a couple of photos of live laptop performance that I did before Christmas with soma friends. Very interesting sonically and coded through Max MSP. Also, all done through improvisation.
I have been making my own reverbs recently through recording impulse responses.
I've tried recording various spaces with different reverbs. Its fun to experiment with other things too for example solids. I've tried to get impulse responses from radiators, pianos, plates etc. You can record them using either room sweeps (try REW's ) to a sharp sound such as a balloon pop. You can get some interesting sounds. The next thing is then to select a dry sound and experiment with them. Ableton live is easy to use with them. So is Reaper which is a great low cost DAW. I highly recommend it. Hi. I have been swamped with work recently
I have been building and Max/msp patch for the next live performance I am doing in the next couple of weeks. If you don't know about Max/Msp I suggest you go to the Cyling "74 website. Ambisonics is a set of Max objects and extensions which means you can play spatialisation of sound. Very cool indeed. You can rotate the sound or record trajectories. Now for some quad speakers. |
